The short version: Cassi does not sell your data. We do not share your personal information — your location or anything that could identify you beyond what's needed to run the app — with anyone. When you use Cassi's AI insight features, your logged diary entries (meals, feeds, sleep, nappies, mood) are sent to our AI provider to generate your insight, but your health conditions, allergies, and medications are never sent to AI.
1. Who we are
Cassi is a personal diary app for mothers, helping track diet, infant behaviour, sleep, and wellbeing. Cassi is developed in New Zealand by an independent developer. For privacy questions, contact devsentinel1@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
When you use Cassi, we collect:
Your first name and email address, used to create and manage your account
Your child's first name, date of birth, and feeding type, used to personalise the app
Diary entries you log — meals, feeds, sleep, nappy/diaper changes, moments, moods, and exercise
Basic device information needed to operate the app (such as push notification tokens, if enabled)
3. How your data is used
Your data is used to:
Display your diary entries back to you within the app
Generate personalised observations about patterns between your diet and your baby's behaviour
Allow you to export a PDF summary of your logs, for your own records or to share with a healthcare provider
Send optional reminder notifications, if enabled
4. How long we keep your data
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data — including your diary entries, your child's information, and any generated insights — is permanently deleted immediately. This is done directly within the app, under Profile → Account, and cannot be undone.
If you don't use Cassi, we don't automatically delete your account or data — it remains until you choose to delete it yourself.
5. How AI is used, and what stays private
When you use "Cassi's deeper look" or purchase a one-off AI Insight, your logged diary entries are sent to Anthropic, the AI provider behind Cassi's insight feature, to generate a written observation for you.
What is sent to the AI provider:
Your first name and your child's first name and approximate age, used to personalise the response
Your logged meals, feeds, nappy entries, sleep, moments, and mood — including any notes you've written
Your child's feeding type and, if applicable, formula brand and ingredients
What is never sent to the AI provider:
Any health conditions, allergies, or medications you've entered for yourself or your child
Your exact date of birth or your child's exact date of birth
Your email address, location, or any device identifiers
AI-generated insights are observations about patterns in your own logged data. They are never a diagnosis and never a medical recommendation — always check with your doctor or midwife before making any changes based on an insight.
6. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider, with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to your own account through row-level security — no other user can access your data, and Cassi's developer does not routinely access individual user data.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your personal data with advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes. We do not display third-party advertising in Cassi.
8. Your rights
You can:
Access, edit, or delete your personal information at any time within the app
Export your data as a PDF at any time
Delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly within the app, under Profile → Account. This is immediate and cannot be undone.
9. Children's privacy
Cassi is designed for use by parents and caregivers, not by children. We collect limited information about children (first name, date of birth, feeding type) solely to support the diary functionality of the app, entered and controlled entirely by the parent or guardian using the app.
10. Third-party services
Cassi uses the following third-party services to operate:
Supabase — secure data storage
Anthropic — AI-generated insight text, using your logged diary data as described in section 5
RevenueCat — subscription management
Sentry — crash and error monitoring, to help us detect and fix problems in the app. Sentry may receive limited technical information (such as an error message or device type) but never your diary content or personal details
Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the limited data they process on Cassi's behalf.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
